Me and the Music

I was born in Haiti, next to Cuba, Dominican Republic and so I was obviously surrounded by Latino music. At a young age, my mum started to take me along with her to her salsa classes and social dancing (due to frequent problems with a lack of babysitters)!! But, in hindsight, actually it was a very good thing because this is where I started to learn salsa and fell in love with it. Also coming from a musical family and being a musician myself now (Saxophone) I noticed every time I was on the dance floor I was focussed on the music which inspired my dancing and that’s how I started to understand that salsa music, for me, comes first and dancing second. Years after I started to go to Salsa congresses where DJ’s like DJ Gabriel (Paris), DJ Steve (Haiti, Belgium) and DJ Willy (France) gave me the feeling to seek those killer tracks. So in summary, that’s how I became passionate about this rich music.

Thanks to Hai-Yen who encouraged me to go for Open Decks at the Boston and my friend Nico (Salsa Festival Valbonne) who gave me the opportunity to DJ in Nice (France), I am now very happy to be able to share my favourite music with you.
